Today is our wedding anniversary, we have been married for two years. Dale and I often joke that it feels we have known each other for a lot longer - in a good way that is! If you have read my other blogs, you could probably figure out why, we have done a lot in just two years!
A lot of people do not really know how we met, it just seemed that I showed up in Saskatoon all of a sudden! So if you do not know how it all happened, this will answer that question!
Back in February of 2015, I was just a girl (that is how these things start, right?), living in a very spacious one bedroom apartment, in my opinion in the best suburb of Winnipeg. I lived and breathed my job, I was the lead hand (supervisor) of a 10-12 man crew cutting down diseased elm trees on the riverbanks of Winnipeg. Chainsaws and cutting down trees, a huge passion of mine, if you didn't know! Besides working for a living, I was in university part time working towards getting my horticulture certificate, I was also in different dance programs, and then splitting the rest of time up between church, family and friends. I was very busy and I loved it.

One Saturday, while having some down time and reflecting on all the great things in my life, the Lord led me to a website you may have heard of, Christian Mingle. Completely apprehensive, I signed up and paid for a three month period. About ten days later, a heavy duty mechanic who also worked for the City - the city of Saskatoon, messaged me. After about two weeks of sporadic messaging, my interest started to climb. Because I was incredibly busy we had to wait to meet for almost two months, however because it was going to be a long trip for Dale (an 8 hour drive), we also wanted to make sure we were pretty serious about each other.

Our first date was almost like going on a date with a friend you have known for awhile. We talked on the phone for two months before meeting, so we knew each other pretty well! Dale came to Winnipeg for the weekend and stayed in a hotel, but we spent as much time as we could seeing if we really wanted to start a long distance relationship. On the second day of him there, during a bonfire and having a serious conversation about careers, God, life, etc. I felt as if I had been struck by lightning, I knew right there and then, this was my partner, spouse-to-be, soul-mate, lobster, whatever you call it. Dale was it, he was the one. I still remember every word of that conversation to this day.

Dale messaged me on February 19, 2015
Our first date was April 10, 2015
We got engaged on July 31, 2015
I moved to Saskatoon on September 30, 2015
We were married on November 21, 2015!
